[Place Capital] confirm UKREiiF [2023 partnership]

Place Capital Group have confirmed our involvement with The UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), which is set to take place between 16-18 May in Leeds.

We will be taking centre stage at the Industry in Focus stage on Tuesday, 16th May, where key stakeholders and industry leaders will discuss how many post-industrial town centres have been ‘hollowed out and remain economically fragile, despite often having dozens of undiscovered cultural and heritage assets.

The session titled ‘Industry & Expertise – Levelling Up through Leveraging Heritage Assets’. will discuss how towns and communities can be given new life through imaginatively repurposing often old and redundant assets and heritage buildings into modern, future fit real estate assets. Real case studies will be discussed and debated, and lessons learned shared. There are an estimated 160,000 redundant heritage buildings in the UK’s towns and so this event will be relevant to anyone with an interest in levelling up their town centres.

Speaking of their participation, Place Capital Group CEO, David Smith-Milne, said: “We’re really excited to be part of this year’s UKREiiF event and addressing an issue, we believe is one experienced by every local authority in the country. We estimate that there are around 160,000 heritage buildings currently vacant in the UK’s towns and cities. These are important cultural and economic assets that should be both preserved and put to good use to benefit their communities. The UKREiiF event is the perfect platform to start the conversation about how we reanimate these inspiring buildings in a contemporary setting.”

Keith Griffiths, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of UKREiiF, said: “We’re pleased to announce Place Capital Group’s session at UKREiiF 2023. We look forward to giving them the opportunity to showcase their best practice to a plethora of investors, developers, local authorities and end-users.”

Led by the UK’s leading property events company Built Environment Networking and supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the second annual UKREiiF event will be held in Leeds on 16-18 May 2023. The forum will attract inward investment, generate economic growth, and drive a more sustainable and inclusive culture within the property and construction industries.
