Place Capital appointed to deliver [Vescock Street homes]

Place Capital Group has been appointed by Aviva Capital Partners as development and delivery partner for the Vescock Street / Limekiln Lane scheme in Liverpool.

The proposal is set to provide around 135 high-quality new homes as an early delivery phase of the Liverpool North New Town vision and the wider Greatie Market / Scotland Road Regeneration Programme.

Around 110 of the homes are proposed as Build to Rent properties, supported through initial funding from Aviva Capital Partners, while 25 Rent to Buy homes are expected to be owned and managed by Torus. The scheme will bring together Aviva Capital Partners, Homes England, Liverpool City Council, Torus and Place Capital Group to help unlock a new approach to housing-led regeneration in North Liverpool.

As well as new homes, the scheme is expected to support wider placemaking improvements, including better public realm, greener streets and stronger walking and cycling connections. An adjacent Council-owned site at Central Tin has also been identified for further affordable homes, subject to feasibility work, planning and statutory approvals.

David Smith-Milne, Founder and CEO of Place Capital Group, said: “Vescock Street will be the first quality housing scheme in North Liverpool for a generation and will kick start a wider programme of renewal.

“The partnership we have developed with the Council, Homes England and Aviva will deliver high-quality, low-energy, beautifully designed homes set within an environment that encourages neighbourliness and community.”

Vescock Street is an important early milestone for Liverpool North: bringing investment, partnership-led delivery and new homes to an area with significant potential for long-term renewal.
